Christy O’Connor Junior and Topaz Tee Up for the 2010 Special Olympics Ireland Games!

 

Monday 31st May 2010: Special Olympics athletes Deirdre Burke and Cian O’Connor were joined by Irish golfing legend Christy O’Connor Junior at Elm Park Golf Club yesterday to announce details of Topaz support for the 2010 Special Olympics Ireland Games.

 

Topaz, who are transport sponsors for the Special Olympics Ireland Games which take place in Limerick from the 9th to 13th of June have been strong supporters for the golf games in recent years.

 

The company is providing transport sponsorship worth €20,000 for the Limerick games.

 

Speaking at the announcement, Matt English, CEO Special Olympics Ireland said “We are delighted to have the support of Topaz for the 2010 Special Olympics Ireland Games. Such support means so much to us and will make a huge difference to ensuring the success of the Games, which get underway in just over a week.”

 

Chief Executive of Topaz, Eddie O’Brien said the company was delighted to continue its strong association with Special Olympics Ireland. “We have supported Special Olympics Ireland in different guises through the years and are delighted to support the Limerick Games. It will be a marvellous occasion and everyone at Topaz wishes the athletes, their families, the organisers and all the volunteers the very best in the Games” he said.
