Topaz Energy today marks the one year anniversary of the date which brought two of Ireland’s best known brands together – Shell and Statoil Ireland - to create the leading fuel supplier in the country.
The purchase of Statoil Ireland in 2006 confirmed Topaz Energy’s commitment to the Irish market for the long term, and brought together the largest network of dealers, distributors and employees seen to date in the industry sector.
Danny Murray, CEO, commented: “We’re delighted to have reached this important milestone in the history of Topaz Energy. It’s been 12 months since we set out to construct a new force in the Irish energy business and much work has been completed.
“We’re particularly proud of the effort and commitment shown by our people. With over 1300 directly employed staff and almost 2500 indirectly employed via our unrivalled network of dealers and distributors, we’re one of the leading privately owned employers in the country and take that responsibility very seriously.
“We believe that Topaz Energy has an exciting future ahead of it. In the next few weeks, we’ll be opening Ireland’s largest forecourt at Dublin Port and 2008 will bring a number of further developments for the company.”
