Dublin motorists will notice a big change when they go to fill up their cars at their local service station. Topaz, Ireland’s largest retail fuels business has been busy transforming every Shell and Statoil service station in Dublin as part of its ambitious national re-branding programme.
The refitting and re-branding of the Dublin network is part of a €50million national investment programme and will see 45 Dublin service stations, move from Statoil and Shell to the new and striking Topaz brand. Topaz is an Irish owned company and employs over 650 people in Dublin, in both service stations and in their head office in Clonskeagh.
In total, the re-branding programme will transform 350 service stations, over 40 home heating oil depots and a logistics fleet of almost 300 vehicles.
Set up just three years ago, the company bought the Irish retail and commercial fuels businesses of Shell and Statoil in 2005 and 2006 respectively. It is the largest fuels business in the country. The re-branding of the Dublin network is the latest step for one of Ireland’s largest privately owned companies. Every year Topaz owned stations in Dublin sell over:
- 2 million newspapers
- 900,000 sandwiches
- 1,500,000 cups of coffee
- 6,300,000 confectionary products
Peter O’Connor, Retail Dealer Area Manager for Topaz in Dublin, said “We are delighted to bring the national re-branding road-show to Dublin. All Topaz and Statoil Fuel Cards will continue to be accepted at all of our sites during the changeover”.
